Tom Boehm owner and driver of the Blue Bayou Nostalgia Super Stock raced stock class Chevys at Great Lakes Dragway Wisconsin in the late 60 and early 70s. He returned to drag racing in 2003 when he found the Blue behind a little house in Loveland, Colorado. Boehm said they didn't need to do any bodywork, "just a little prep and then we painted". It actually took longer to name than car than paint it, "it took us a year to name it. We had a list of 50 names and our resident hippie Doug Ice is the one that actually cam up with Blue Bayou." This super stocker is powered by a 528 cubic inch Hemi with aluminum heads, Callies crank, Cirrillo rods, JE pistons, 14.5 to 1 compression and a Torqueflite by A&A Transmissions. The Iowa based team of Blue Bayou is lead by crew chief Jim Johnson. Tom and Jim typically run FX classes with a best reported ET of 9.35 @ 146 mph.
