DREW MRAZ
Photos by: Mike Ward
Drew shared he began drag racing “legally” in 1964 at Island Dragway in Great Meadows NJ. He ran Modified Production, some little rails, and even a Porsche powered drag bike. As with so many racers life took over and that was the end of his racing involvement until the “Nostalgia” races started coming back. His involvement was gradual starting with crewing on an Altered, helping on a build of an NE1 dragster and then crewing on the same car for a few seasons. Drew enjoyed the people and index racing so much he began building his own digger in 1999. He has been running competitively in NE2 for sometime and doesn’t plan on going any faster simply because he enjoys the people, the class, and the racing.
